Role Overview:
Provides expert knowledge and assistance to junior security specialists. Oversees efforts to provide asset discovery and assessment support to the security and health of IT systems. Enacts procedures to identify and mitigate potential security threats. Provides C&A support to new operations needing ATO on the infrastructure. Conducts ad-hoc and periodic assessments on hardware and software deployed CONUS or OCONUS for post certification and accreditation. Manages and performs the daily IT system security discovery and assessment activity. Configures, troubleshoots, and maintains discovery activities that support the collecting of critical system assets attached to the IT infrastructure. Provides documentation and technical support. Provides support to management and internal customers by effectively communicating and escalating solutions. Possesses a clear understanding of TCP/IP address schemes, LAN/ WAN topology, and a basic understanding of PC and server interaction, and scanning experience.

  • IAT Level II certification per DoD Directive 8570.1
  • A minimum of three years experience of installing, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting medium-size routed and switched networks, including implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN.  This includes knowledge of how to mitigate basic security threats.  CCNA training covers (but is not limited to) the use of these protocols:  IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2), VLANS, Ethernet, and access control lists (ACLs).
  • This labor category requires PRIVAC ITIL® v3 Foundations certification
  • HP Service Manager 7.11 End-User Training, experience installing, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting medium-sized routed and switched networks, experience with implementation and verification of connections to remote sites in a WAN, experience with TCP/IP address schemas IPv4 and IPv6
Desired: experience with Lumeta IP Sonar, knowledge of basic security threat mitigation
